Justin Bieber’s new scent smells like sweet success

Who has tried the new Justin Bieber fragrance?  It’s geared to his 14- to 18-year-old fans, but I bet some older girls have taken a sniff — or maybe even made a purchase for themselves.

I read that the fragrance is super-girlie, sweet and fruity.  A 1.7-ounce bottle costs $45 with body lotions and a hair mist priced less.

Someday is sold at Macy’s, Sephora and Dillard’s. The Hollywood Reporter said sales could reach $30 million the first year. That’s a lot of sales to a lot of young girls. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Pencils of Promise, a philanthropy that builds schools, and the Make-A-Wish foundation.

This isn’t the singer’s first dip into the fragrance market. Last year, he launched My World unisex fragrance that was embedded in dog tags and wristbands. It sold at Wal-Mart for $10.

From Wal-Mart to Macy’s biggest launch ever.  Ah, the sweet smell of success.
