Tim Gunn joins Weight Watchers
Tim Gunn of “Project Runway” fame has joined Weight Watchers to inspire people on their weight loss journey.
In addition to providing fashion tips for the many stages of weight loss, Gunn also served as a fashion consultant for the new Weight Watchers PointsPlus program advertising campaign featuring Jennifer Hudson and real life Weight Watchers success stories.
”As people lose weight, they gain a new self confidence and are more adventurous in making fashion choices,” said Cheryl Callan, chief marketing officer, Weight Watchers. ”People who experience successful weight loss begin to have more fun getting dressed every day and are often inspired to continue losing weight and being healthy.”
Gunn is author of ”Gunn’s Golden Rules: Life’s Little Lessons for Making It Work.” For Weight Watchers, he’s providing tips to help women and men realize that looking good each and every day is within reach no matter what size or stage of weight loss. Here are some of Tim’s top style tips:
- Follow three fashion fundamentals: Silhouette, proportion and fit. When they are in harmony and balance, anyone can look fabulous.
- Invest in the essentials: Wrap dresses, belts and skirt/top combinations. Each of these items can be introduced into the wardrobe at any point during weight loss and will have long lasting staying power as you continue to lose weight.
- Shop smartly: When people shop on a budget they are very thoughtful and mindful about how new items will fit into their wardrobe and lifestyle and how they will transition throughout the weight loss journey. Think strategically about your overall wardrobe and how the garments you are purchasing will fit in.
- Embrace your shape: Even if it seems that everyone is wearing a particular style one season, be sure to evaluate how it will work with your shape before committing to purchase it yourself. Embrace your own shape—it’s beautiful — and adopt the trends that accentuate your best feature.
Every girl’s crazy ’bout a sharp-dressed man
Well-dressed men are seen as sexier, smarter and more successful.
I am not making that up. This information comes straight from the inaugural Well-Dressed Men Survey, commisoned by The Men’s Wearhouse Inc. and conducted by Keiton Research. I guess ZZ Top was on to something with their hit ”Sharp Dressed Man,” released more two decades ago.
Back to the survey. Ninety-one percent of Americans think dressing well can make a man appear more physically attractive than he actually is, while 64 percent believe women are more likely to marry a well-dressed man than a slob.
What’s more, 75 percent of Americans believe well-dressed men are more successful at work, and 22 percent of men think they could earn more money if they learned to dress better.
When it comes to sex appeal, 78 percent of women think one of the hottest things a guy can do is dress well. Some 85 percent think a man who dresses well is sexier than one with a lot of money. And 63 percent of females preferred a man in a suit to a man in a uniform.
And, finally, 80 percent of women said they would give up something in their lives — going out to dinner, using their cell phones or even having sex for an entire year — for a better-dressed partner.
