Kiehl’s opening new shops in two local Dillard’s
Kiehl’s Since 1851 will open new shops in Dillard’s Quail Springs Mall, 10:30 a.m. to noon, Thursday, and at the Dillard’s in Sooner Mall from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
Dillard’s and Kiehl’s will present $1,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City Inc. at the event. In December 2009, Kiehl’s opened a shop at Dillard’s, Penn Square Mall. This year, Dillard’s and Kiehl’s will donate a total of $29,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities throughout the country.

Kristin Chenoweth is more than an actress and singer. She can add shoe designer to her resume, too.
The Oklahoma native has partnered with ShoeDazzle to offer a limited-edition, celebrity-designed shoe exclusively to its well-heeled members. One hundred percent of the profits will be donated to Chenoweth’s charity of choice.
Her shoe is a gray, suede-like bootie that she has named “Little Diva.” The Tony and Emmy-winning actress found inspiration for its curvy, voluptuous design in the demure sexiness of vintage styles, a tribute to the early 1960s time frame of her current Broadway play, “Promises, Promises.”
Sales of Chenoweth’s “Little Diva” will benefit the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute, a national not-for-profit organization devoted to improving the lives of children and families through development of better adoption-related policies and practices. Chenoweth, who was adopetd, serves on the Honorary Board of the Adoption Institute and recently received a congressional Angels in Adoption award for her commitment to the cause.
Chenoweth, a Broken Arrow native and Oklahoma City University graduate who is known for her performances on stage, television and film, was recently inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

Here’s a stocking stuffer for the person on your gift list who flies a lot and has to deal with airport scanners.
It’s underwear, but not just any undies. This is a special kind of underwear that, according to the Colorado inventor, will get you through the ordeal with your dignity intact.
Jeff Buske told the Associated Press that his invention uses a powdered metal that protects people’s privacy when undergoing medical or security screenings,
The underwear’s inserts are thin and conform to the body’s contours, Buske said. It’s difficult to hide anything beneath them, and the mix of tungsten and other metals do not set off metal detectors.
The men’s design has the fig leaf, while the one for women comes in the shape of clasped hands. Bra inserts also are available. Prices range from about $9 to $20.

Guess who’s coming to Kohl’s?
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony announced plans for respective clothing lines at the chain. Going to Kohl’s seemed an easy choice.
“One of the exciting things about it is that they wanted something new,” Lopez, 41, told Usmagazine.com. “They need other things that are a different style, a different sensibility and that’s why they came to us.”
Apparel and accessories are the focus now, but the husband and wife aren’t ruling out home goods in the future.
Lopez’s collection will feature sportswear, dresses, sleepwear, bags, jewelry and shoes. Anthony’s will include sportswear, dress shirts, suit separates, sports coats, neckwear, accessories and shoes.
“It is stuff that we would actually pick up and wear,” said Anthony, 42,. ”It’s an amazing collection.”
The merchandise is expected to be in Kohl’s stores in fall 2011.
Kohl’s has been upping its fashion quotient for the past few years with collections by Lauren Conrad and Vera Wang.
