And they keep coming. I’m talking about singers, actresses and celebrities jumping into the fashion pool.

Now Madonna, 51, is set to design clothes for juniors. She’ll get a little help from daughter Lourdes,13. Madonna is collaborating with U.S.-based Iconic Brand Group to create the new venture MG Icon.

The Material Girl collection will be available at 200 Macy stores and online. Look for back-to-school apparel, footear and jewelry, retailing from $12 to $40. The collection will be in stores in August. A fragrance is expected to launch new year.

Iconix owns a portfolio of brands including Ed Hardy and Badgley Mischka.

This isn’t Madonna’s first venture into fashion. She collaborated with a limited-edition collection for H&M in 2007.

“Madonna is a fashion icon who can bring a new dimension to our juniors cusotmer,” said Jeff Gennette, Macy’s chief merchandising officer. “Material Girl will enhance the excitement of fast fashion at Macy’s.”

Lately, it’s Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes, who has been attracting attention  for the creative ways she puts pieces together. No doubt she will provide plenty of inspiration for the new collection.
