Fashion designers, now’s your chance to play dress-up with the big boys and girls.
Macy’s fashion office is taking applications for an open call to be held Feb. 25 and 26 at the Herald Square flagship store in New York City. Designers must be at least 18, must use electronic date interchange, compliant manufacturing facilities, and must apply online through Jan. 31 at macysinc.com/opencall, according to a story in Women’s Wear Daily.
The open call is for designers of women’s apparel, men’s apparel, shoes, handbags, fashion accessories, jewelry and beauty. If Macy’s likes what it sees online, designers will get a private review from fashion directors and an opportunity to network in a “casting call environment” with other Macy’s executives and participating designers, the story said.
“It’s an exciting opportunity for us to help nurture the careers of designers by elevating them onto the mainstream fashion stage,” said Nicole Fischelis, Macy’s fashion director.
