NEW YORK (AP) — Spring romance filled Tracy Reese’s runway Monday with fun and sometimes flirty dresses inspired by the earthy palette of painter Pierre Bonnard.

The collection “blends fierce optimism and edgy romance,” Reese said in her notes, in colors that ranged from purples to grays to oranges.

The opening number was a sleeveless V-neck goldenrod dress with embroidery on the top and a drawstring at the waist to create a bubble skirt with pockets for a comfortable look.

Other outfits included a spaghetti strap watercolor print dress with a poof at the bottom and ruching on the bust, paired with a long black sheer shawl draped over one shoulder.

Some of the flirtier pieces were a black sheer drapey dress with opaque polka dots worn over a pink slip, and a mini dress with spaghetti straps and colorful sequins on a black background.

Other looks oozed class, including a black jumpsuit with spaghetti straps that was cropped just below the knee, and a blue draped slim-fitting one-shoulder gown.
