Celebrities all aflutter for Ann Taylor tank
I totally overlooked this chiffon flutter tank at Ann Taylor. I must be the only one.
According to Ann Taylor, celebrities are loving the tank, including Eva Longoria of “Desperate Housewives,”‘ Olivia Palermo of “The City” and Elisabeth Haselbeck, co-host of “The View” and Jennie Garth of “90210.”
J. Crew may have Michelle Obama in its corner, but it looks like Ann Taylor is attracting its own well-known heavyweights.
The feminine tank features a scoop neckline with ruffle detailing. It looks equally good with a pencil skirt or skinny jeans. The tank retails for $50.

JC Penney settles in near Macy’s in New York City
Guess who’s sitting pretty in New York City, just a wink from Macy’s flagship store in Herald Square? None other than JC Penney.
It’s not unusual for Penney’s and Macy’s to coexist be in the same mall in Oklahoma or Texas, California or Florida. But it will be interesting to see how New Yorkers embrace the more comfort food appeal of Penney’s. Here’s the story from Wallet Pop.
“How Do I Look?” … new season starts July 23
If you’re a fan of makeovers shows, The Style Network’s “How Do I Look?” returns for a 10th season at 8 p.m. July 23.
Along with each life-altering transformation, the show has undergone its own makeover with a new host, fashion expert Jeannie Mai, a chic new penthhouse loft and high-tech tools. In each episode, Mai will join two accomplices and one professional stylist to help transofrm one lucky victim into a vision of style. After raiding the individual’s closet, their offending items are presented on the ‘sacrificial table,’ singled out by each accomplice and then disposed of by the Ewww Tube, a new device that literally sucks clothes up and away.
Of course, you can expect lots of tension, drama and tears.
If you’ve not seen the show, here it is in a nutshell: The three accomplices shop separately to each create personalized collections to present to the victim. While the team hits the shops, Jeannie works with the victim to uncover what went wrong in their style history and offer fashion lessons. The guest then models the new looks and selects her favorite.

Janis Bevers … an inspiration to women of all ages

Janis Bevers
I wrote about Oklahoma City interior designer Janis Bevers in my Sunday column. She is inspiring and fearless. I suspect she always has been, but her spirit is even stronger since she suffered a double brain aneurysm. At 53, she seems to embrace all that life gives and is up for everything new.
What a wonderful way to live. She sent me an e-mail after my column appeared in the paper, hoping the story “will inspire and encourage women my age to never ever stop pursuing their dreams and goals and to look at any obstacles as mere ‘bumps’ in the road, not ‘boulders’!
That was also her hope when she wrote about her remarkable recovery, spirit and fearlessness for More magazine. Her story was published online. Read it. You’ll be glad you did. And if you’re interested in seeing some of Bevers’ interior designs, go online to www.livinginstyle1.com.
We didn’t have room with my column to include photos, so here are some pictures of Bevers. And, yes, these are recent, all taken within the past few months. She’s 53 — youthful thinking and youthful looking.

Marc Jacobs introduces Lola, his newest fragrance

Lola, Marc Jacobs' new fragrance
I’m hoping Lola is as striking on the inside as she is on the outside. Lola is Marc Jacobs’ new fragrance, landing in stores in August and September.
New fragrance launches come almost daily, but what caught my attention is the bottle. It’s beautiful.
Fashion darling Jacobs designed the bottle, which is described as as an “electrifying, over-the-top bouquet exploding from the bottle. Twisting layers of fabric, he fashioned the sumptuous swirls of a lavish floral bouquet. The iconic high gloss cap shines with astonishing proportions sand playful colors making it irrestible to touch. The bottle’s silhouette is intensely feminine and sexy. Shaped with voluptuous curves as if it were straight off the celebrated Marc Jacobs runway.”
The fragrance is Jacob’s own personal creation, too, his vision of what is feminine and sexy. It is described as a bit flirtatious with a playful wink. The warm floral bouquet features fruity topnotes of bright pink peppercorn, pear d’ anjou and ruby red grapefruit highlighted by fuchsia peony with soft touches of rose and geranium.
The 1.7 ounce eau de parfum is $65; 3.4 ounce, $85. Body lotion, body cream and shower gel also will be available.
Lola will be available exclusively at Boomingdale’s in August and at select specialty retailers nationwide in September.

Get tough nails with Perfect Moisturizer

Daily Moisture
I’m blessed with strong, healthy nails. They don’t chip or split easily, and they’re not brittle. I know I’m lucky. But for those who aren’t, Daily Moisture by Perfect Formula might help.
Daily Moisture is formulated with keratin, the main protein that makes up nails, jojoba oil, a moisturizer similar to the natural lubricant of the skin, and Vitamin E, which nourishes and strengthens dry, thirsty nails.
“Nails need strength and flexibility to grow long and beautiful,” said Perfect Formula founder Shari Gottesman.
Use Daily Mositure on top of nails, under nails and on cuticles daily. It can be used on polished or natural nails. It retails for $29 at perfectformulas.com. The company also has several other products to strengthen nails. Check it out. Your nails may thank you.
In Touch Weekly says Jon Gosselin is engaged

Jon Gosselin
On Monday I blogged about a People magazine story that said Jon Gosselin would be involved in a new children’s line. Now comes word that the father of eight is engaged. Here’s the e-blast I just received from In Touch Weekly. (Looks like the lovebirds been doing some serious shopping, too.)
Less than a month after separating from his wife, an insider close to Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Jon Gosselin says Jon has proposed to his new girlfriend, 22-year-old Hailey Glassman! “Jon has been telling everyone that he loves her and she loves him, so why waste time?” says the insider, adding that Jon presented Hailey with a $180,000 engagement ring designed by Edouard Nahum — featuring a skull surrounded by four black diamonds — during a romantic getaway to St. Tropez on July 12.
“They started dating two months ago and they both just knew the other was the one instantly.” The couple was in the French Riviera to meet with Ed Hardy clothing designer Christian Audigier, who tells In Touch, “We had a great time.” The two stayed in a $2,000-a-night room at the Chateau de la Messardiere, drank champagne and ate lobster after an afternoon on Christian’s yacht, and went shopping in Antibes. Christian helped them celebrate their engagement on July 13. “They all went out to the V.I.P Room nightclub in St. Tropez after dinner,” says another source close to the group. “Hailey was flashing her ring around and they were kissing and hugging.”
Although they’ve only been together for a few months, Jon has already spoiled Hailey with the trip to the South of France, fancy dinners and shopping sprees at malls near her hometown of New City, N.Y. In early July, Jon took Hailey for sushi at Yama Ya, and to Wally’s Ice Cream Parlor for dessert. In June, Jon and Hailey were spotted at the True Religion store at Garden State Plaza mall, where he dropped $1,000. “He made a big purchase,” a witness confirms to In Touch. And at Neiman Marcus, Jon “bought a bracelet,” an employee adds. Says the college friend, “I think she’s with him to use his money. No doubt in my mind.” Money isn’t the only reason she might be attracted to Jon. “Hailey is fame-hungry,” the college friend says. “She auditioned for The Real World. I’m not surprised she’s with someone in the public eye.” And though Jon has often complained about the pitfalls of fame, none of that seems to matter to him. During their celebratory night in St. Tropez, the source says the happy couple started to plan their wedding. “Jon said to Hailey: ‘Why don’t we get married in Vegas?’ and she squealed ‘yes!’” says the insider. “They are already talking about staying in the Venetian Hotel on their wedding night and what sort of dress she’ll wear.” The pair even asked Christian’s best friend to be a witness at the ceremony.
