Shopping for a new body

I am tired of many of my clothes, but I’m not sure what I want. I bought new shoes and sandals this season. I’m carrying a new handbag. I even changed my makeup a little and started wearing pink lipstick.  Love the pink, by the way. Have I mentioned that before?

So what’s the problem? I think I need a new body. I’m tired of lugging around this one. My friend Bonnie Bing, who works for the Wichita Eagle, has lost about 25 pounds. I haven’t seen her since she found her new skinny self, and while I’m happy for her, I’m also jealous.  She has worked her butt off, literally. Problem is, I applaud her while eating Cheese Nips.

I want a svelte waist, trimmer thighs and a flat stomach — and if it all fits into a pair of pants a size or two smaller, even better.  Starting now, I’m going to try to eliminate sugar and white foods. And maybe my daughter, who graduated with a degree in fitness and nutrition in May, can work up a fitness plan for me.

It’s not like I don’t have incentive. Stephanie is getting married in November, and I want to feel good and look good at the wedding. So, now that I’ve put this in print, I think I’lll put away the lap top and go for a walk.

November isn’t that far off.
