A peek at episode two of “The Fashion Show”
If you’re already a fan of “The Fashion Show” or still trying to decide whether you want to follow another reality series, here’s a peek at the second episode.
Socialite Tinsley Mortimer joins Isaac Mizrahi, Kelly Rowland and Fern Mallis on the judges panel. For the Harper’s Bazaar mini-challenge, the age old adage “one doesn’t have to spend a lot of money to look good” is put to the test, as the remaining designers are challenged to style two dress forms, one for a “budget” look, and the other for a “bank” look. For the elimination challenge, the designers work in teams to create a variety of garments for one of Mortimer’s upcoming events. Operating under a strict budget, the teams are responsible for designing a cohesive look, from head to toe, that corresponds with Mortimer’s high society fashion needs.
“The Fashion Show” airs at 9 p.m. Thursdays on Bravo and the winning designs of each episode will be available for purchase on BravoTV.com.
Photographing white clothes in an automotive garage
On Monday, we photographed white clothes in an automotive garage for the June issue of OKC N Style. I love it when we do something different. It keeps everyone — the photographer, the models and me — excited.
I also worked with makeup artist Johnny Bruner with Yves Saint Laurent at Dillard’s, Penn Square. He’s new to Oklahoma City, but he’s got a long list of credits, including “America’s Next Top Model” and MTV Music Awards.
When you’re out shopping, pay attention to all the great whites. Some of the dresses look as good as anything you’ll find in black. Plus they’re a nice change from the blur of color. White just looks right. It’s like a fresh start in your closet.

In my column today, I wrote about Houston jewelry designer Tia Neyman. The line, called Tia Mia, is extensive with earrings, cuffs, bracelets and necklaces adorned with semiprecious stones and pearls. “I’d rather have a big honking pearl than a diamond,” she said during a visit to Ruth Meyers Inc.
