It stands for small personal belt and is designed to hold IDs, cell phones, keys, money, credit cards or other must-haves for those times when you don’t want to be weighted down by a purse.
According to a recent market research survey, 95 percent of American women carry a handbag. A May 2009 Woman’s Day article reported that the average handbag “weighs 3.4 pounds and contains 67 items.” Most of these contents get tossed into the bag and don’t make it out until the weight of the bags starts to cause neck strain or aching shoulders.

While im not conviced this is any different from a fanny pack it is still a very safe way to carry your important items.
