Smell like a Bond Girl and get a free movie ticket
Your inner Bond Girl is just a spritz away.
Avon has introduced Bond Girl 007 eau de parfum spray, and each purchase comes with a ticket to the movie, “Quantum of Solace,” which opens today.
Avon describes the fragrance as a sexy cocktail of exotic orchid and velvety white peach, refershed with orange blossom and warmed by sensual cashmere woods.
Chatters say the fragrance is feminine, sexy and lives up to the Bond name. And, of course, the bottle is shapely, just like all Bond Girls.
Bond Girl 007 retails for $30. For details, go to the Avon Web site or talk to your favorite Avon representative. The offer expires Jan. 7.
Check out Carrie Underwood’s golden shoes

A press release says she wore the mirrored gold leather t-strap sandals from Gracienne. Retail price is $294.15. Check ‘em out here.
Carmindy’s new makeup line gets favorable comments
If you’re thinking about trying Carmindy’s new makeup line, Sally Hansen Natural Beauty inspired by Carmindy, check out the recent comment on a blog I posted when the line was introduced. The chatter was really impressed with everything in the line. Carmindy is the makeup artist on TLC’s “What Not to Wear.”

Carrie Underwood in Elle magazine
Check out the December issue of Elle magazine featuring Oklahoma’s very own Carrie Underwood. She talks about Olympian Michael Phelps (have you heard they’re dating — not!), on dealing with celebrities, why she tries to keep her love life private and more. Elle hits newsstands today.
Here’s what she has to say about rumors that she’s dating Michael Phelps:
“I never met the guy! I’m sure he’s lovely. I’m sure he’s a great guy. He made America proud! But I never met him, I never mentioned him in an interview, I never mentioned him in that way to anybody that I know. That was one fo those completely, totally, utterly fabricated lies that came out of nowhere.”
On fashion:
“I’ve been trying to dress myself a little better now just because I feel like people are disappointed when they met me and they’re like, ‘Oh, her hair’s in a ponytail and she doesn’t have any makeup on.’ So I’ve been trying to, I guess, meet people’s expectations a little bit more and look like a real person that has a real job.”
The rush is on to decorate for the holidays
Penn Square Mall is already dressed up in its prettiest holiday finery. So is Northpark Mall. I’m guessing other malls are, too.
With Thanksgiving coming late this year, on Nov. 27, most retailers are getting a jump-start on the decorating. So are some of the rest of us. Who wants to go to all the trouble of decorating the house, the tree and the lawn for just a few weeks.?
Many people I’ve talked to plan to decorate early. I’m seriously thinking about getting the tree up and trimmed by Nov. 25. And, yes, if I can get it together, I’ll be thankful that it’s done and I can sit back and enjoy the holidays.
Christmas decorations, trees, etc. have been in the stores since July, so it doesn’t even seem like I’m rushing the season. How about you? Is it too early to start decorating for the holidays?
Nars holiday collection shines
Imagine a look marked by deep purple-infushed hues, offset with hints of sparkle. Just what the holidays ordered, right?
The Nars holiday collection focuses on bold, regal purple eyes paired with a berry-stained glossy pout. On the flip side are eyes gilded with metallic tones of silver and gold. Lips, cheeks and nails need just a hint of peachy-pink made even more flattering with a whisper of gold.
Nars is available at The MakeUp Bar and Sephora.
The highlights:
Super Orgasm Blush ($25). Nars enhances the classic with golden flecks.
Jolie Poupee Duo Eyeshadow ($32). Shades of vibrant violet and pearlescent purple.
Night Life Single Eyeshadow ($22). Add light and shimmer to your lids with silver shadow infused with silver particles.
Silent Night Single Eyeshadow ($22). Shadow enhanced with gold flecks.

Looking for a new nail polish color
Essie’s Hard to Get … it’s my fave but I’m thinking I need a new shade for fall
I’m trying to find the perfect nail color this season.
I tend to favor lighter shades, but all the darker hues are tempting me. Chipped nail polish is my pet peeve, though, and dark polish shows every little chip. After three or four days, I’m usually touching up or taking it off. I did surprise myself recently and opted for a ruby red. It lasted longer than I thought, but I babied my nails.
Right now I’ve got on a baby pink shade that I love, but it seems such a warm-weather color. I looked longingly at a deep purple shade at the manicure salon, but I have a busy week and I didn’t want to fuss with my nails.
The Essie polish I’m wearing now — Hard to Get from the spring collection – wears so well that I keep going back to it. (Yes, I bought several bottles.)
So, what’s your favorite fall/winter/holiday nail color?
