Get your hands on “The Closer” tote
A great tote is tops on most women’s must-have list.
Now comes an opportunity to score not just a great tote but a specially created version of the trademark black bag carried by Brenda Leigh Johnson on “The Closer.”
The Closer tote will be presented at 7 p.m. Monday on QVC during the shopping channel’s Fall Fashion Designer Gallery segment.
The Closer bag sells for $59.
The QVC broadcast will include highlight clips from “The Closer,” plus behind-the-scenes footage from the series promoting the new season, which started July 14 on TNT.
“Brenda has become an icon to her diehard fans,” said Tricia Melton, senior vice president of marketing for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies. “They’ve asked for a chance to buy a copy of her bag, and we listened.”

Brenda, played by actress Kyra Sedgwick, is a former Atlanta detective who moved to Los Angeles to head a special Los Angeles Police Department unit that solves sensitive, high-profile murder cases.
UPDATE FROM LINDA: From what I’ve read, the original tote was custom made based on a Furla and Prada bag. There’s a similar style — and it’s on sale — on the Wilson leather web site here. Let me know what you think.

The original, that is used by Brenda on the show, was put together by those affiliated with the show. There was information on the message boards where it was confirmed that the original bag was multiple bags that were put together to make “Brenda’s” bag. QVC is the only one offering it. There has been other talks of one on ebags and one on JCPenney by Sag Harbor that are close.
Oh my gosh! how hard can this be? There is a demand waiting for a supply, where are all those saavy marketers??
By the way, as though this wasn’t traumatic enough, I love her glasses now too.

I actually like the bag by Wilson Leather rather than the replica Maxx New York made for QVC. Now, I’ve read conflicting reports as to who actually created this bag for Kyra’s character. The founder of Maxx bags stated in an article that she designed the bag for the show. I also read that the stylist of The Closer created the bag inspried by Prada and Furla bags. Oh, well.
I too want the leather bag because it will hold up in time rather than a pleather/pvc. I’m not crazy about Maxx bags and their quality (I used to work for QVC back in college and I’ve seen Maxx bags coming in from shipment).
I’ve been Googling like crazy trying to find the designer of Kyra Sedgewick’s glasses on the the show. I love them! Does anyone have any idea who makes these? They look like a pair by Kate Spade, but I’m not sure. Thanks!
Here’s what I found out about the glasses.
Michelle Sisco, director of field publicity for TNT and TBS, said both the reading glasses and the sunglasses are by a company called Beausoleile.
The props department is in charge of the glasses and get them through a service that supplies glasses to the TV industry. She has no idea where to purchase them and has been referring people who ask on the message boards to look on the internet or ebay.

Hey ladies;
I just wanted to write back and say that after I saw the QVC and the price, I said “for vinyl”? So I went ahead and ordered the Wilson bag and it is really gorgeous, and LEATHER!! I think the difference in price is less than $10.
My only thing is that the Wilson bag is topstitched, with white thread. I personally have never been a fan of this fashion practice. I don’t like it on suits, pants and not on my bags, but the bag is so nice that I couldn’t send it back,and when I decide to I’ll go over it with a black sharpie. It comfortably fits a laptop and has inside pockets like for notes, phone and a zipper for your wallet or keys.
So all in all, Love it!
Pllllllease… Can you tell me where to find the Wilson Grab and Go bag? I can’t find it. I looked at the site and it is no longer available… Guys help me here. Thanks!
Girls, I just found out that Wilson’s has a new invetory of the Grab and Go tote in red, brown and black- I already received mine… It’s very nice and professional look. I bought mine for $43 total w/ coupon. Good Luck!
Go to QVC.com and the Closer tote is U$ 30 now, in 2 flex pays of 15 (I bought and I really liked), but if you still want the Grab and Go tote from Wilson’s, call customer service and ask them to send you a e-mail telling you whem it is back in the inventory… I did that… and now I have both…
MAXX NY finally has this bag in LEATHER. I just ordered mine. I have the PVC version….it’s nice but a bit stiff and can easily be scratched up. I hope the leather one is better. Unfortunately I contacted Wilson Leather regarding their “Grab and Go Totes”. The rep said that they have no idea if this bag line is coming back. I told her to tell their buyer to bring the bag back because of its popularity and the price for an all-leather bag. It’s hard to find a modern, clean simple tote on the market these days. I work in an office and I don’t want my bags to have a lot of bling-blang and junk all over.
I bought my LEATHER Tote from QVC preorder in August 2009 and received in September. LOVE my tote… NO PROBLEMS with it and soooo roomy

If anyone knows where I can get one of Kyra Sedgwick bags I would appreciate it. I have looked all over the internet and the Wilson web site but have had no luck! I know it has been a long time since this bag came out but I can only hope someone knows.

I too am Jonesing for the Brenda bag. No luck so far. Hobo International Daniella looks almost too good (and it is pricey). Kohl’s has one called the Relic Glazed Tote that is about $35 + shipping.
What are dimensions of Brenda’s bag?
It looks larger than any of the ones I have looked at.

I have the leather Maxx New York version of “the closer bag”. I used it a few times, but have decided it is not for me. It has been in my closet on a shelf. Thinking about putting it on eBay.
