Carmindy’s natural beauty
I’ve been wanting a new pinkish lipstick so I decided to give Sally Hansen Natural Beauty inspired by Carmindy a road test. The beauty line is new, so I was eager to see how it delivered.
Carmindy is the makeup artist on TLC’s “What Not to Wear.” I interviewed her last year and she said then was working on her own makeup line.
Back to the lipstick. I settled on Champagne Rose. It’s a light pinkish/brown shade that offers some color, but not a lot of intensity. It’s creamy, and probably has a bit more staying power than a gloss, but I wish it was more pink. On me, it really looks like a nude shade. I prefer a more clear color.
Maybe I’ll try another shade next time or just swipe some of my own lip gloss over it. I’m always hesitant to buy makeup, lipsticks, etc. at drug stores and mass merchandisers because it always seem to be a guessing game. If I have to buy two or three lipsticks to find one I like, I’ve spent more than I would have on a prestige brand — one that I can try on before I buy.
Places like Sephora and Ulta, and specialized service at the Makeup Bar, Balliet’s, Sooo Lilly and department stores, make it so easy to get the perfect shade.
I do think I’ll try the eye shadow base when mine’s gone. Let me know if you’ve tried any of the products. I’m interested to know what you think.

Walgreen’s lets you return any beauty product if you find you don’t like it after trying it at home. I just returned two items yesterday for a full refund.
I used the eye shadow base with wonderful results. My eyelids tend to become oily throughout the day so eye make up would generally only last about 3 hrs tops. With the base, eye shadow lasted all day long, and then some…. Highly recommend the eye base. I’m planning to purchase the brightening concealer next.
Glad to know about the eye shadow base. I’m finishing up one by Vital Radiance (a line by Revlon that is no longer available), so I’ll be looking for a new one in a few months. I’ll keep this one in mind. Thanks for the review.
I just bought her whole line the other day and everything works fabulously! The face primer does wonders it really illuminates the skin nicely for a fesh look. I have oily skin and it helped control it and it makes my skin feel silky. The foundation goes on so nicely and looks so natural all day long. The powder is great, the puff really does give just the right amount and never looks cakey. The eyeshadows are so easy to use and the under eye concealer brightens so nicely reflecting light to the eyes. The blushes look really natural. I used the lip glosses snd they’re great because they don’t feel sticky or goopy and seem to stay on longer than any other gloss I’ve used in the past. Needless to say I absolutely love the line! Carmindy did a fantastic job on the products. I got so many compliments the first day I wore it. Everyone said I looked like I had a glow to my skin and commented on how fresh I looked.
Sounds great I’ve order some Fast Fix Concealer in “All Over Brightner”. i really like the idea of of getting rid of the dark circles.
The Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired By Carmindy cosmetics line is the best makeup ever and available at great prices. So, forget those expensive brands, this line is all you will need. I love it!!! Not enough women have heard of these great products; but try them, you are going to love this line!
I thought the drug stores/mass merchandisers got around the lack of testers by giving refunds if you aren’t happy with the product. Couldn’t you just return the lipstick for a different color?
