Love to take pictures? Here’s your chance
The folks at Nygard International need your help.
Designer Peter Nygard is coming to Oklahoma Oct. 25-27, and the company is looking for “volunteer” photographers to take pictures of his visits to Dillard’s stores in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Norman and Lawton.
He’ll be traveling with two professional photographers, but they often get pulled away for posed pictures and don’t get the impromptu shots that are more fun and interesting. This would be a good opportunity for anyone looking to build a photo portfolio, someone interested in fashion photography or photography students.
If you’re interested, give me a call at (405) 475-3235 and I’ll pass your information along to Nygard’s team.

I have U.S. friends who have worked on his property in the Bahamas – he also verbally abuses his own employees and more. Too much for this blog. I fully agree with Ramos’ statements. Cheers from the UK!! – Pat
Photographers,
Don’t agree to these terms. Go shoot something meaningful instead.
This isn’t some “in” to the fashion industry. It’s an abuse of student photographers and those unaquainted with professional photography practices.
The contract makes shooters surrender ALL rights to ALL images. Then, the disk is copied, the disk is reformatted and returned to the shooter with no payment. It’s outrageous.
This is done “to impress” media. It doesn’t.
If media folks in other cities could avoid covering the event and feeding this horrible abuse of photo students (and future fashion copy-cats), please do so.
Please read my post at PhotoJournalism to understand the unprofessional practices his team is undertaking.
Nygard came from a humble beginning. It’s a darn shame he’s sunk so low as to abuse others to make a buck.

What I know is that it is not (anymore or never was) their intention to format or copy the CF’s I heard that they have no time to do that. However, there are still enough reasons to name a few: the restriction (not allowed to use the images) in the Release; volunteers to act like
“paparazzi” to impress media and customers and that all for no
payment. There is also of course his attitude towards his employees and his publically known [extreme] hedonistic lifestyle that makes me puke. I wonder how religious people think about that.
comment 2 is accurate…i worked & lived at his home in bahamas…he is a bad man and will do anything to get something for free…stay away!

Why volunteer for nygard?? I appeal to photographers to avoid
anything nygard! Volunteers and student photographers are asked to
follow nygard for hours and bring their own valuable equipment. On
top of that Nygard asks volunteers to sign a release form. That @#$!!
form prevents volunteer photographers from using the pictures. I call
that an abuse of student and volunteer photographers. What nygard asks from volunteers is absolutely unacceptable! What I heard from
photographers in TX, OH and MO is that nygard had no luck in
attracting photographers so they let their own people (incl models haha) act like paparazzi. The word in the photography world should be to avoid anything Nygard! Ramos
