Going to a Con?
Well, think again. At least, if you were looking to attend the Texas Wizard World Con because it is cancelled. If you were planning to be in L.A. in March, forget that too, that one has been postponed. ICv2 does report that the Philadelphia and Chicago shows will go on and “be better than ever”. Uh huh.
I certainly don’t have the funds to go racing around to cons, buying materials for costumes and staying in hotels. It’s too bad though because I think cons are an amazing, important expression of fandom. Sure they are silly. But where else can you see the Ghost Hunter guys discuss their show and run into the purple haired creators of The Venture Brothers? Not to mention, you might score a date with Neo or Naruto.
Thankfully, in this downturn you can still get your graphic fix at the library.

That’s too bad ’cause you know what they say….”If you can’t get laid at a con, then you can’t get laid! HA HA HA SNOOORT” *partially covers face with cape and slowly walks away*
