Japan’s Whaling “Problem”
MangaBlog pointed me toward this great scanlation of an anti-anti-whaling cartoon by political cartoonist/madman Kobayashi Yoshinori. (small warning: there is harsh language)
From an artistic standpoint, the comic is pretty impressive. I’ve never tried to draw whales but I’m sure it isn’t easy. Plus, drawing insane guys screaming to the effect that he does? Yeah, I like it.
Politically, I think Steven Schulz nails it when he refers to Yoshinori as “a Tobacco-industry scientist who is also an LSD researcher.” I’ll let you read the comic and judge for yourself.
