This is ridiculous. That second tweet translates to THIS: Let’s put Oklahoma education behind the rest of the nation, and behind the rest of the world. Forget all the national research that drove the rigorous standards (which are by far more strenuous than current OK standards) – let’s throw it all out the window and do things the Oklahoma way! What exactly has Oklahoma been known for educationally? Why is “Local” better than federal standards? Hey T.W. Shannon – GET IN THE CLASSROOM and see how BEHIND Oklahoma Children REALLY ARE. CCSS is going to accelerate our population to an achievement level that can compete with other states, and ultimately, other nations.
Yes, it requires funding, but the goal of the CCSS is this: to prepare students to be college and/or career ready by graduation. Now tell me, what is wrong with that?

How sickening. All this talk of education being “local” and our students are still underprepared and ranked at the bottom. Perhaps it shouldn’t be so local.

Considering the millions that the district has poured into this school in the past few years, if they decided to close this school, or turn change it into a limited charter school, I would expect no less than a resignation of every single administrator at Oklahoma City Public Schools. I would totally support a taxpayers lawsuit against the district.
