Newman Young Writers Award

$300 and a certificate will be awarded to the Oklahoma high school student whose short essay responds the most thoughtfully to some aspect of the writings of the winner of the Newman Prize for Chinese Literature, Mo Yan. A translation of a Mo Yan short story, “Soaring,” is available for free download @ http://www.ou.edu/uschina/newman/youngwriters.html.
