One summer in college I moved everything I owned in multiple trips using my Honda hatchback. Everything I owned fit in boxes except my mattress. I put the mattress on the roof and secured it using the best method available. Lacking rope or tiedowns I drove slowly with my left arm out the window, holding the mattress on the roof. In the 9 blocks I moved, it only fell off once. A college degree does not equate to common sense.
