Sorry for the lack of updates. I’ve been busy planning my next adventure. Expect to hear more about that soon, I promise, but in the meantime check out these links to see what I’ve been up to recently: http://sonnietrotter.com/2010/07/10/under-25-climbing-camp-2/ and http://jennifercaye.wordpress.com/2010/07/12/acc-u25-2010-gurrrl-power/
Most of my adventures usually take place far from home in some exotic locale, however this weekend looks like it will be bring a different sort of adventure much closer to home. For reasons that I am struggling to remember at the moment I decided (or was convinced) to sign up for an extreme urban race called Metro Dash. At the time it seemed like a long time off, and I was able to delude myself into thinking that I would be prepared by the time the race came along. The race is this weekend, and I can say with full confidence that I am definitely not prepared. In fact, I am sure that there is no way I can lift a giant truck tire, let alone flip one multiple times. I have a habit of not reading the fine print, and realizing about ten minutes too late that I am in utterly over my head, If you want to come watch me go “splat”, the race starts from the Capitol Skyline Hotel (10 Eye Street, SW Washington, DC) at noon. I’ll be the one kicking the tire in frustration. Or you can check back in a few days for the embarrassing photos that I am sure my father will be taking.
