Queenstown Update

Posted December 27, 2009 19:16 under Blog, Updates

Just a short update to let you know that I’m still in Queenstown. I was supposed to leave this morning and head north, but I’ve decided to spend a few extra days here (and consequently a few extra days in New Zealand). I’ve been having a great time the past few days hanging out with people I met on the bus, exploring Queenstown, and getting some down time.

Unfortunately I don’t have as many pictures as I would like from the past few days since many of the places restrict the use of cameras (either because cameras wouldn’t survive the activity or because they want you to buy their photo packs). Don’t worry, I haven’t tried to top bungy jumping, but I have gone luging, river boarding (white water rafting without the raft), and visited a bar made entirely of ice.

I just booked a one day trip to Milford Sound, which is supposed to be one of the most beautiful places in the world, so expect a longer update soon.

    Oh Katya,
I’m so glad you’re going to experience Milford Sound – it really is a beautiful magical place – if you can get a boat ride (not one of the commercial ones hopefully), you’ll be riding along with dolphins leaping out of the water. I understand why they filmed Lord of the Rings in NZ – there is just no other place like it on the planet.

Looking forward to your impressions of Milford Sound!
