SNL using Canon 5D and 7D
We are big fans of the Canon 5D camera’s video abilities at OPUBCO. We use it for commercial, marketing and some of the higher-end productions for news/lifestyle features.
After reading this post from Phillip Bloom’s blog it seems more TV productions are fans as well:
I had a very nice email from Alex Buono, the SNL DP who recently shot the new title sequence on the 7d and 5d as well as loads of other bits and pieces. They normally use film, Cinealta, Varicam or the HVX but they shot on the 7d and 5d for the first time recently. They wanted to shoot the new title sequence with the 7d after seeing how good it looked after seeing my little Dublin’s People short apparently which is very flattering.
Episode two of Open Dialogue
As you see below, yesterday we posted the fourth Welcome Home segment. Angi hosts, Kyle produces and edits.
Above is another series we are producing. Open Dialogue is a joint project between OPUBCO and Creative Oklahoma.
The first segment featured Graham Colton. This next week, we’ll have a full seven minute feature with Boone Pickens, Rand Elliott and Jamey Jacob.
This clip is a 90 second teaser to the upcoming vid. Skyline Ink did an amazing job with the animation.

Helmet cam captures avalanche, rescue
Avalanche Skier POV Helmet Cam Burial & Rescue in Haines, Alaska from Chappy on Vimeo.
From NewTeeVee.com, this video shows a helmet cam video of a skier, avalanche, being buried and amazingly rescued.
The video, posted by Vimeo user Chappy, was captured in April 2008 by a customer on a heli-ski trip in Haines, Alaska. (”Chappy” was snowmobiling nearby that day, he writes on Vimeo, though some of his group rode the same helicopter as the skier caught in the avalanche.) The skier fell 1,500 feet in 20 seconds, but escaped without broken bones. He was saved by his right glove, which flew off as he was falling and led the rest of his group to where he was buried.

OSU didn’t disappoint by blasting Grambling State on the field. The Grambling State band didn’t disappoint either.
Pre game snap
Something new for this football season, NewsOK Video is shooting The Oklahoman’s reporters before each OU and OSU game for a video we call “PreGame Snap.”
The idea is to post this video, send out an email, text alert and Twitter alert along with a link to our mobile site. Fans at the game can watch and listen to last minute and any breaking news updates from our sports guys.
