Took the JVC out for another test drive. This time in the freezing, blowing snow over night. Again – and perhaps due to the wind – I fought the shaky image of this camera. I think the DSLR is easier to shoot than this camera. But I’m determined to get the hang of it. The image quality is pretty good for as dark as it was outside.

I finished this video around 2 am but didn’t post it because I felt the video quality wasn’t good enough. Then I changed my mind and threw it online.

Spent Saturday morning at the Cox Convention Center covering the Bart & Nadia health event and the USA Canoe/Kayak announcement that OKC will host Olympic Trials in April.

All three videos are my first productions with the new JVC GY-HM150U. This is a nice upgrade from the Sony HVR A1U that I’ve shot with the past four years. But I’ve found the battery life to be disappointing. And the camera’s image stabilization is really lacking. It will take some adjusting to, but that’s the case with every camera. It’s extremely easy to use in the field, especially in my one-man-band/mercenary approach to shooting videos.
