It’s been five years, over five years now, that iTunes has been selling digital downloads. Apple’s music store, now the world’s largest after passing Wal Mart earlier in 2008, went online on April 28, 2003.

Of all the digital songs sold in all of the world, iTunes accounts for 70 percent.

Since its debut five years ago Monday, Apple’s iTunes Store has sold more than 4 billion songs and accounts for approximately 70 percent of digital music sold worldwide. In the next five years, it may well account for a staggering 28 percent of all music sold worldwide.

Apparently about 30 percent of all computers have iTunes installed. And while iTunes sees rampant growth in downloads and users, the iPod has somewhat plateaued.

Ok, enough shop talk. Let’s go to the scoreboard, after 5 years in biz what are the top sellers? Careful, it might make you sick…
