Wednesday morning at the Arts Fest

A few headlines from a park bench at the Festival of the Arts.

Still the underdog in a contest that won’t quit, Hillary Rodham Clinton pulled off a feisty act of political survival in the Pennsylvania primary yesterday, defeating Barack Obama to keep her Democratic presidential hopes alive. Clinton won 55 percent to 45 percent.

Meanwhile, Gov. Brad Henry, who said earlier he would not endorse a Democratic presidential candidate until this summer’s national convention, announced this morning he is supporting Barack Obama.

What should OKC’s NBA team be called?

Angi and I taped a segment over the past two weeks about what OKC’s potential NBA should be called. I say two weeks because we went out to Oklahoma Christian’s clock dedication a couple weeks ago where we ran into Gov. Brad Henry. His response was “the Henry’s.” Pretty good.

We also asked Oklahoma citizens their thoughts and The Oklahoman’s sports staff for theirs.

Honestly, I haven’t heard a proposed team name I really like. Not that it matters. But I’m a big NBA fan. Big Lakers fan, grew up that way. I’ve bought the NBA League Pass for years and stay up past midnight watching the Lakers as their West coast home games begin at 9:30 pm Oklahoma time. Anyway, I’d be disappointed for OKC to have a lame name.

Not that it matters.

Capitol Christmas tree lighting

Angi, Tanner and I hit the Oklahoma state capitol today for the annual Christmas tree lighting.

I won’t lie: it was COLD.

But we met Santa. And Brad Henry. And Angi got a classic response from the governor that still cracks me up. And no, we won’t show it on this video! Nothing bad, just quality stuff.
