Thousands of worshippers began arriving at the Washington Nationals stadium Thursday, eagerly awaiting an open-air Mass that will be presided over by Pope Benedict 16. A crowd of 46,000 is expected, and the demand for tickets doubled the supply.
The Oklahoman’s Andrea Cohen reports It appears Oklahoma State has hired a man of many interests in basketball coach Travis Ford, who accepted an offer to become OSU’s next men’s basketball coach on Wednesday. The Seattle SuperSonics’ Oklahoma-based owners on Wednesday accused the city of Seattle of scheming with a potential purchaser to force them to sell. Meanwhile NBA commissioner David Stern says Seattle made little effort to keep the team.
