Enough of the cold weather. Let’s talk pork… and welding… and bagpipes?
Many emails requested more live driving this morning. But we know OKC is a grown up city. It’s even a big league city as Mayor Mick might say. So we left the driving to the every day road warriors.
We did tape a town hall meeting at OPUBCO this morning. And the usual energy segment. And some Parties Extra with Helen Ford Wallace.
Our crews were also around OKC at various assignments:
Of course, Damon Fontenot will file two videos from the Ford Center later tonight. Or possibly early in the morning, sometimes those deals run long. Press conference and the Jackie Cooper BMW Post Game Show with The Oklahoman (longest title for a current NewsOK segment) will be posted following the final buzzer. Thunder and Grizz, tips at 7.
Counterterrorism publication, behind the scenes
Tamara Pratt was always one of my favorite reporters to work with at News9. She’s now at the MIPT in downtown Oklahoma City, and says she’s busier with this gig than she ever was in the TV biz.
Tamara called me last week, said she had an idea with 9/11 approaching. What if we created an “Ask a terrorism expert” page with video online? Sounded like a great idea and we went to work.
Thanks to Nick Tankersley, Marcy Williams and Alan Herzberger at NewsOK for knocking out the Web page. Kyle Roberts and I, along with Paige Dillard’s help, shot the interview at the MIPT offices on North Robinson on a rainy Wednesday afternoon.
Tamara set up an interview time with Donald Hamilton, the executive director. He has no shortage of knowledge about his job. The Oklahoman’s Augie Frost showed up and agreed to go on camera for the interview.
