Static at SXSW: 21 videos in 30 hours
After flying to Washington DC on Sunday to meet with our colleagues at the Washington Examiner, I drove to Austin on Wednesday morning to shoot video for our Static music series at South By Southwest. I met up with George Lang who conducted the interviews with various Oklahoma musicians, mostly at the Buffalo Lounge, set up at Friends Bar on Sixth Street in downtown Austin. Over 30 hours in sweaty Austin, we produced 21 videos. Big thanks to our friends at the Oklahoma Film and Music Office for their assistance with access during this event. It was great to reconnect with a lot of this area’s musicians. And to hear some great stuff. Very talented artists!

Two nights in DC
Flew into Baltimore on Sunday and two nights later I left via BWI. In between I met with some very professional and gracious people at the Washington Examiner.
OPUBCO and the Washington Examiner and Clarity Media are now owned by the same owner, so we are finding synergies in our operations.
I met with the WEX newsroom to discuss video training and to get their video set running. Chris Casteel from The Oklahoman’s DC bureau had used the set at the National Press Building over the past four years. And he had done a great job in assembling the set over at the Examiner.

OKC Museum of Art 10th anniversary
We are working with Leslie Spears and Glen Gentele at the OKC Museum of Art on their upcoming 10th anniversary event. We spent Wednesday morning shooting in the museum. Kyle Roberts has been editing yesterday and today on the video. Looks pretty sharp.
