Warwick, Grier, Holliday highlight Langston Gala
I covered the Langston University President’s Scholarship Gala last year, interviewing deep-voiced, good guy Dennis Haysbert. You know, Cerrano from Major League. The All State guy. Yup, him. Good guy.
Langston has great people working there, including Jeff Packham from their public relations department. Big thanks to Jeff and to Yvette Walker from The Oklahoman for their help in coordinating coverage of this year’s event. Dionne Warwick, Pam Grier and Jennifer Holliday were the honored and featured trio this year.
No, I didn’t ask Warwick about the Psychic Friends Network. Of course, she would have already known I wasn’t going to ask her, being psychic and all.
All three legendary ladies answered the media questions with patience and fairly thoughtful answers. All seemed really very nice.
