Tokyo Pot in Stillwater

Ever turn right when you drive into Stillwater? Typically, I turn left towards the Oklahoma State University campus.

Not Tuesday night. Nope. On a mission, Mel and I met Tanner Herriott, his new bride Anne, Dave Cathey (The Oklahoman’s Food Editor) and his wife Lori for a video shoot at the Tokyo Pot, 108 W 10th Ave. (Urbanspoon review)

Cathey wanted to shoot a Table One-style video of this shabu-shabu concept restaurant. Tanner shot with the Canon 5D, capturing audio with his usual JVC rig.

The food was great. Thinly sliced meats and vegetables.

Three pots in the middle of the table over burners for cooking, see the pic at the right for a visual. One was only water, the other two were more sweeter or spicier. The meats ranged from chicken to fish to lamb to the star attraction – the ribeye.

We all had a great time, donning costumes and listening to the entertaining and engaging owners.

Story and video is upcoming.

No sake bombs were consumed during the taping of that segment.
