NewsOK Video wins Telly Awards

Not just one, but four.

The Telly Awards recognize excellence in video, not just who has the latest craze in YouTube or bizarre comedy.

From today’s Oklahoman and NewsOK:

NewsOK.com won one award and was a finalist in three other categories in the Telly Awards, an international competition for videos, TV programs and commercials. The intro for a recurring NewsOK.com video series about the University of Oklahoma’s football team won a “Silver” award, the highest award given in the Telly competition.

StaticBlog by George Lang, a Bedlam football video and a Webisode on the Thunder Girls each won a “Bronze” award.

About 7 to 10 percent of the 14,000 entries in the competition won Silver awards and 18 to 25 percent won Bronze awards.

The Telly Awards recognize outstanding local and regional video in a number of categories.

Entries in the competition came from all 50 states and five continents.

“The judges look at excellence, not just if the video comes from the big ad agencies or networks,” said Dave Morris, director of video for OPUBCO Communications Group.

“I think it validates what we’re trying to do here: to produce quality, credible video.”
