Kayaking at Lake Hefner
Lake Hefner offers many things: food, drink and water mostly. Among those is kayaking. I had a shoot this morning at the southside of the lake with Angi Bruss, Jacquelyn Farris and Tanner Herriott. We shot a Girl vs Wild segment on the techniques of kayaking, then Angi and I spoke with Dave of OKC Kayak fame about how peeps can get involved in the sport.

Dear Mr. Morris,
I am a volunteer with Novo Ministries, an inner city Bible club for kids ages 3-14. I work with the oldest girls, 6-8th grade. All of these girls are from single-parent homes and have very little opportunity for special outings. I am planning two very special days for them. We will do two volunteer activiites. One at the Hope Pregnancy Center and the other at the Regional Food Bank. We will have time to play at a park, visit the library and go to Marble Slab for ice cream.
One event that I would like to expose them to is kayaking. I am asking if you could donate time for them on the water on Lake Hefner. I’m not sure how all the details would work but I am willing to do whatever you need to provide this amazing time for them. I will bring 6 girls and two adult sponsors two separate times. I think smaller groups makes for greater learning and openess.
Is this something that is possible? I will have them fill out permission slips and whatever else is required. If we need to spend time volunteering for you to earn this privilege, we would be delighted to do that.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
