Angi and I contribute a column to Look at OKC each publication. We typically try to do a video that relates to their bi-weekly topic. This issue it was missed connections. As in, if you saw someone but didn’t get the digits you could post a message on a web site and perhaps connect that way.

NewsOK wins EPPY award
Today NewsOK won another Editor and Publisher award. This time in the category of:
Best Special Feature in a Web Site — News or Event, with fewer than one million unique monthly visitors.
NewsOK won for Oklahoma Centennial.
The 2008 EPpy Awards — one of the nation’s most prized and long-running honors for online content — were presented today during a gala luncheon sponsored by the Knight Foundation, during the Editor & Publisher/Mediaweek Interactive Media Conference and Trade Show at the Rio in Las Vegas.

Morning update for the OKC
A renewable energy company founded by Oklahoma native T. Boone Pickens says it’s buying 667 wind turbines from General Electric. The longtime Texas oilman’s company, Mesa Power, plans to use the turbines to start what it expects will be the world’s largest wind energy project. The Pampa Wind Project will be located in Texas.
At 19, mayor-elect’s the pride of Muskogee. The Oklahoman’s Julie Bisbee reports John Tyler Hammons may have already performed his grandest feat as mayor, even before taking office. He put Muskogee in the national spotlight. Hammons, 19, beat his 70-year-old opponent in a runoff election Tuesday, getting nearly 70 percent of the vote.
Six children were taken into custody by the Department of Human Services after Oklahoma County sheriffs raided a Del City home for drugs Wednesday morning.
Tulsa’s David Cook will face off against 17-year-old David Archuleta for the grand prize on American Idol next week. The Oklahoman’s George Lang reports “American Idol” viewers made it official Wednesday: the seventh-season finale next week will be an all-David competition.
