Angi and I shot a segment at Lyric Theatre this morning advancing their upcoming season.
We visited Lyric at their remodeled, amazing Plaza Theatre on NW 16. We’ll have more video about the neighborhood renovation, a Sunday Conversation on the topic, and more in upcoming weeks.
The summer season kicks off June 24 with the Sound of Music. The season includes Swing!, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, and yes, Urinetown: The Musical. These performaces are all downtown at the Civic Center.
Season tickets are on sale now. Single tickets can be purchased beginning May 19.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show will be in the new, cool Plaza Theatre in October. Get your toast ready.
I produced this podcast earlier today with Tim Henley and Lindsay Hodges. Cracked me up.
Heavy winds blew through the metro last night. I stopped by the Edmond Arts Festival this morning. Artists and helpers were picking up tents and some artwork to prepare for this weekend’s festivals. It runs Friday-Sunday.
Ok, this is a random post so I’ll explain my reasons for posting it. First, I’ve always been a diehard NBA fan. Big time Lakers fan. Second, the NewsOK NBA blog was the most read blog on the site last month, so the users have some League interest. Thirdly, the headline caught my attention on the Yahoo! Sports site so I’m sure it’ll catch others’ attention too.
What sparked, so to speak, this topic was Josh Howard admitting, sure, he burns one down during the offseason. Nice. Bet the teammates really appreciated hearing that during the playoffs as the Hornets were showing them the door. Fire one up Josh. You have some time on your hands.
So, the following is from the excellent Detroit Free Press (check out their video stuff).
Odds on the next NBA player to admit to smoking up:
Allen Iverson: 4/1
Carmello Anthony: 10/1
Rasheed Wallace: 2/1
Josh Childress: 4/1
Odds on what’s next for Howard:
Banned from league: 5/2
Fined by league: 1/2
Starts company with Ricky Williams: 100/1
