Oak Tree sold
An update from this morning’s headlines:
The Oklahoman’s John Rohde is reporting local businessman Ed Evans on Tuesday morning announced the purchase of Oak Tree Golf Club from previous owner Don Mathis. Evans said he bought the prestigious private course in north Edmond with the intent of luring another professional major event, or perhaps landing an annual stop on the PGA Tour.
The NBA announced today that New Orleans Hornets head coach Byron Scott was selected as the recipient of the Red Auerbach Trophy as the 2007-08 NBA Coach of the Year.

Tornadoes hit Virginia
3 tornadoes ripped through Virginia yesterday. More than 200 people hurt.
The National Weather Service confirmed that tornadoes struck Suffolk,
Brunswick County, about sixty miles west, and Colonial Heights, about 60
miles northwest.
The government began depositing tax rebate checks in thousands of bank
accounts Monday as the stimulus program aimed at giving the ailing economy a
jump-start got under way early.
Police in Catoosa say the body of a man found wrapped in cellophane inside a
pickup truck has been identified as that of a missing Rogers County man.
Investigators say the medical examiner’s office identified the body as
Carter Leach of Chelsea. Leach had been missing since March 17th. Cause of
death unknown.
A single-engine plane nosedived into the Will Rogers Turnpike near the Miami
exit yesterday afternoon. Authorities would not identify the pilot, but
family members identified him as Clair Tromsness, 74, of rural Miami.
Roger Clemens had a decade-long relationship with country star Mindy
McCready that began when she was a 15-year-old aspiring singer and the
pitcher was a Boston Red Sox ace, this according to the NY Daily News.
Clemens is denying an inappropriate relationship. McCready however confirmed
the affair.
An approaching storm system will bring strong winds, increasing the wildfire
potential in western Oklahoma today to Thursday, Mostly sunny. Southerly winds 10 to 20 mph.
