NBA in OKC: March Madness vs Western Conference
Darnell Mayberry from The Oklahoman’s sports desk and I chatted during this week’s NBA in OKC podcast. Topics ranged from yesterday’s press conference in Seattle about ANOTHER group of investors interested in building an arena (seriously, how many investor groups have we heard of now?) to the Western Conference playoffs.
Darnell and i agree, the NBA playoffs are shaping up to be better than the NCAA playoffs. We differ on NBA MVP. He’s leaning towards Kevin Garnett of Boston. The Big Ticket has certainly brought a defensive mindset to the Celtics – they really play good D now – but I don’t agree that he’s the leagues MVP. Kobe Bryant has done everything to get his team to the top of the mountain, and despite an injured team and an injured pinkie, he’s got his team primed for a deep playoff run.
