Sure the Cash for Clunkers helped! It helped the salvage yard down the road fill 5 acres with junk cars with no fence to hid them from traffic. Welcome to Oklahoma, home of junk yards and landfills.

I personally believe that Charles Davis hit the nail on the head when he said it was to "keep from giving the store away in the meantime.” In other words, they don't want another ODCR to crop up.

Endeavors like ODCR weaken the leverage required to get a unified Supreme Court system rolling. ODCR and Bulk Data Archival (BDA) are two Kellpro business initiatives that will inevitably be steam-rolled by the new OSCN and the bulk data ruling, so it doesn't make sense to assume that Kellpro is benefiting from the ruling in question.

Kellpro may be benefitting short-term from the contract with the AOC, but the contract comes at the loss of significant business opportunity to both Kellpro and other private sector vendors.

Thanks, Alan. To clarify, my concern is directed more at the Supreme Court ruling than KellPro.

If, as you say, that KellPro has helped county clerks supply bulk data to other companies in the past, then I wonder why the Supreme Court would limit a third-party request like it did?

I don't think that there is any reason to assume that Kellpro has a desire to keep bulk data from other companies. Kellpro has assisted the court clerks in supplying bulk data to other companies many times in the past.

It should also be noted that the OK Supreme Court is not providing Kellpro with any data in preference over other companies, but rather that the purpose of the contract is for Kellpro to assist the courts in collecting the data for the proposed Supreme Court system. Kellpro is uniquely qualified to do this since they wrote and maintain the system in which the data is contained.

Kellpro hasn't and never will own the data. I believe it is incorrect to say that Kellpro has any interest in "protecting" exclusive access to court data.
