Following the stimulus debate on Twitter
The $789 billion economic stimulus bill is set to come up for a vote in the next few days in Congress, but Twitter devotees are already hard at work trying to dissect the massive bill.
Part of the problem is that the full text of the conference report that reconciles the House and Senate versions of the bill still hasn’t been released. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office did release a summary (PDF link) this morning, though. The transparency watchdogs at the Sunlight Foundation have more on the lack of details.
There’s a lot of healthy debate about the merits of the bill in the Twitter-verse. You can search for comments using Twitter’s search function and the following hashtags:
#tcot (top conservatives on twitter)
#topprog (top progessives)
Meanwhile, the Congressional Budget Office has its most recent analysis of the Senate version of the bill here. (PDF link)
