I enjoy reading the Cold Case section.
I remember two cases that have had me wondering for 40 years. There was a girl from Duncan named Tammara or Tammy Hallmark that was attacked and beaten by a man.
She suffered such severe brain damage, that she was unable to speak clearly. She kept saying a name that sounded like one of the teachers/coaches name but, the investigators could never be sure if she was I. D. ing the guy or just saying his name because she trusted him. This was in 1965-66. I have always wondered what became of the girl and if the teacher is still involved in teaching or got into anymore trouble.
Along about that same time there was a huge scandal that involved 3 young men from prominent OKC families, (lawyers, politicians) The had raped, beaten (maybe killed) a girl.
I know everyone thought they would get off because of their families.
I left for the Air Force in ‘66.and was not able to keep up with news but, I have always been curious about what became of these 2 big stories.
Do any of your readers have any info that could shed light on this?

Why do we hear nothing on the Denice Stice murder case in November 2007. Nothing has been published since the mystery article.
I was in the ninth grade in Duncan when Tama Hallmark was attacked…It wasn’t a coach that was accused, but his son. The coach was Bert Lana and his son, Mike, was a sophomore at Duncan HS…There were no eye witnesses — there was only circumstantial evidence regarding Mike’s involvement — who was an introvert, but a very likeable guy.
Coach Lana was one of the toughest coaches I ever played under…but – as you can imagine — the stress of the trial and the accusing eyes wore him down that forced them to move after Mike was found not guilty.
There never were any other suspects and the case has gone unsolved all these years…I’m not sure what happened to Tama as she never was able to recover from the serious injuries to live a normal life…
Tama Hallmark was her name she was beaten & stabbed Jan 6, 1964. She had identified a man, but he was not convicted. There are several articles in the Oklahoman Archives about her. There are so many cold cases that would make great reading. The Archives is a great place to do research.
