Cold Case OKC

A young girl missing for 40 years. Another, her body found, her life ended far too soon.

A couple in the midst of retirement plans, beaten and slaughtered 25 years ago.

A Halloween celebrant dressed as a witch, raped and murdered in a field where the homeless gather to drink.

A woman sexually assaulted in her home by a man in dancer’s tights who moved with the unwelcome grace of a Spider-Man.

These are among Oklahoma City’s cold cases — unsolved, unavenged but never forgotten.

And here is where you’ll hear their stories.

Welcome to Cold Case OKC, a unique interactive series combining the resources of The Oklahoman, NewsOK, Oklahoma City police … and you.

Today you will read about the Orbach case, watch video from police, view actual crime scene photos, listen to a podcast and learn what you can do to help bring a killer or killers to justice.

In coming weeks, you’ll view files on additional cases. Study the evidence. Search your memories. See if you hold the key to unlocking the mysteries.

The smallest scrap of information could prove vital. Share tips with us at coldcase@oklahoman.com or contact police directly by calling Crime Stoppers at 235-7300 or the cold case unit at 297-1127.

And come back often.

With your help, perhaps justice will finally prevail.

I would like to know when you are going to find the killer of Tony Burch and his friend. They were helping a white girl move and they were shot in the head by her estranged boyfriend, whom she had had a baby with. Tony and his friend was black, was that the reason this guy was never found. I’m sure by now this lady knows where the killer is, if she had a child by him. Please check on this for the sake of his mother, whom he loved very much.

Thank you very much. Please help!!

What were the results of the Gene Leroy Hart’s DNA testing? This has not been disclosed since the new testing in May. Why?

A friend of mine was killed in 1973 or 1974 his names was Kenny Owens I do not think this case has been sovled does anyone know anything about this case.

Kenneth Owens was shot to death in the parking lot of a Bethany shopping center at NW 23 and Rockwell on Sunday, Sept. 1, 1974.

He was 17.

Owens was shot in the chest after he walked up to the driver’s window of a white or bronze 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass. Witnesses said he was either followed into the parking lot by the car, or he followed it.

Police released a sketch of a suspect the next day.

I do not find any more information on Owens’ death in our files. Right now I can’t say whether the case was ever closed or not. Hope this helps.

Robbie Cutright was brutally shot at the early age of 18 in his OKC home. According to information I have received there were three adult witnesses and two young children under the age of 6 when this tragic incident occured. Unfortunately the three ‘adult’ witnesses do not remember what the suspects look like. I think they should be requestioned and Misty the girlfriend should be seriously questioned. We are fast approaching the anniversary of his death and want THIS CASE SOLVED!

A family friend Tiffany Dobry Johnston was taken from a car wash in Bethany and found on a road near Yukon, has there been any arrests in this case? Her father just passed away and I was visiting the family and was wondering.
