Our state government needs to wake up and realize that tax revenue has declined far more that the 5-7% cuts they are complaining about making. Furthermore, next year will be even worse!

Numerous news stories recently have reported on budget cutbacks within our local and state governments. In most of these articles, those interviewed painted a grim picture of what Oklahoma’s future holds as a result of these cuts. As an example, although unfortunate, it’s difficult to comprehend that a reduction of 30 employees at the State Historical Society will have much of an impact on Oklahoma’s overall well-being, or that closing some historical sites such as the Peter Conser Home in Heavener will cause any noticeable public outcry.
Perhaps unintentionally, Oklahoma has been luckier than many states; historically, we’ve kept government spending in check. Because our state government has been fiscally conservative, we don’t have to make drastic and damaging cutbacks today. On several occasions, Gov. Henry cut budgets and resisted the temptation to dip into the Rainy Day Fund — which is why it’s still available for the real emergency yet to come. The private sector has had to make dramatic cuts in budgets and personnel to stay in business.
It’s time that our elected officials and state employees realize that they’re not insulated from the economic realities that affect us all.

I urge you to take a moment and look at my detailed comments about Oklahoma’s Heartland Flyer and Amtrak in general by going to www.GreggTunison.com and click the Amtrak link.
It is time that we stop fantasizing about what we think will work and realize the reality of what will work and how much it will cost. Please, visit the site GreggTunison.com .

I believe it should be a crime in Oklahoma to talk on your cell phone while driving, also text messaging while behind the wheel. I had a girl hit me hard enough to bend the frame on my car and I could not get my car door open, while talking on her cell phone. She jumps out of her car and says "Oh! This is my second wreck in a week". She never stopped talking on her cell the entire time we were waiting for the police. I believe it will just be a matter of time before statistics show how dangerous this has become. My vote is to outlaw cell phone use and text messaging while driving.
Thank you for listening.

Just heard the State of Calif bought Lawton prison and is sending prisoners from Calif to there. What is up with that? That is not right the taxpayers should get to say if out of state prisoners can be housed here. We are already over croweded in our prinsons.

The Republican Party in Oklahoma has a fairly good system of political pay offs for those who work hard for the party. The Democratic Party in Oklahoma sucks at it and has done so for a very long time. That's the real story in these legislative margins. In 20 years, a lot of bad Democrats will age out and things will turn again. With the right wing activists in the Republican Party, Oklahoma might not be too great a place to live for the next couple of decades. I'd like to see some real conservatives in the Republican ranks again. I guess a man can dream.

If they building engineers would know what they are doing you could of got fresh air by opening the economizers and running the air handler just to circulate air. The economizer will pull in fresh outside air and distribute it throughout the buildings duct work. It just will not be cold air circulating but at least it would be air. If the system is equipped with a heat energy wheel then the air will be slightly conditioned by removing the moisture in the air.

So many people think rail is too expensive. I don't have the figures to post but can someone privvy to that information post the real figures of the cost of construction of 1 mile of rail compared to 1 mile of interstate? This misinformation of expense is Oklahomas number 1 barricade to public support. Well that and so many Okies are dumbly protesting anything connected to Obama. Lord help us!!
