Oklahoma House Speaker a blog away

House Speaker Lance Cargill just announced he is starting a new Capitol blog, where Oklahomans can go to check in on Capitol news.

The web log–most often called a blog–will give “Oklahomans a fresh viewpoint on what’s going on at their state Capitol,” Cargill said. He plans to post on his blog two to three times each week, and comments will be allowed and only screened for “objectionable content,” Cargill’s spokesman said.

The blog will provide “candid commentary on state government and regular updates on reforms brought by conservative state lawmakers,” his press release says. So Democrats no doubt will likely soon start their own blog to muse on.

Check out Cargill’s blog, where he has already made posts about merit pay for teachers and the ongoing audit of the Corrections Department, at www.okspeaker.blogspot.com.
