Big swing state goes for Obama
AP, CNN and Politico all call Pensylvania for Obama. This state went Democrat in 2004 as well, but it is perceived as one of those key states needed for either candidate to win. Politico is also showing with 42 percent of precincts reporting in Florida, Obama is maintaining a 3 percent lead there. That lead has shrunk through the night, however. North Carolina, which just booted out incumbent GOP Sen. Elizabeth Dole, is showing a 5-point lead for Obama. North Carolina has been a solidly GOP state in the last two elections.

Despite AP’s call for Jim Inhofe, Andrew Rice has an early lead in votes that are actually counted. Stay tuned.

Lucas weighs in on McCain vs. Obama
Rep. Frank Lucas kicked off the Republican watch party to cheers here at the Marriot Hotel in northwest Oklahoma City. He told attendees to forget the polls, which he described as “interesting.”
“The fact of the matter is,” he said, “we have an outstanding candidate in the form of Senator McCain.”
He said this presidential election is the most historic since 1948.

News of the (so far) irrelevant, Part 2
CNN, with those same three votes counted in Maine, has CALLED THE STATE for Obama. Obama 2, McCain 1.
AP: Oklahoma goes to McCain
McCain wins Oklahoma
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Republican U.S. Sen. John McCain has won Oklahoma and collected the state’s seven electoral votes in a state that hasn’t supported a Democrat for president since 1964.
Neither McCain nor Democratic challenger Barack Obama campaigned in Oklahoma after their party’s national conventions and instead spent their time in battleground states.
The Associated Press made its call based on surveys of voters as they left the polls.
News of the (so far) irrelevant
Politico, CNN had, for a time, showed that Barack Obama had a stunning 66 percent of the vote in Maine. Yes, with three people voting, two voted for Obama and one voted for McCain.
Two minutes after polls closed in Oklahoma, CNN and AP are already giving the state to McCain. I think there may still be people voting here.
McCain wins another
CNN projects John McCain as the winner in South Carolina.
