Maughan wins easy GOP runoff victory; will face Democrat Dickinson in November
Brian Maughan just won the Republican nomination for the Oklahoma County District 2 Commissioner seat — and he won easily.
The 31-year old captured 71 percent of the vote against former Bethany Mayor J.D. Johnston, 67.
Maughan will face Democrat Jim Dickinson, 48, in the general election.

Brian Maughan continues to put up overwhelming numbers over J.D. Johnston in the Republican runoff for the Oklahoma County District 2 commissioner seat.
Maughan nearly won the nomination in the primary and appears well on his way to facing off with Democrat Jim Dickinson in November’s general election. With 70 of 94 precincts reporting, Maughan has 2,655 votes to Johnston’s 1,113.

Runoff election results here tonight
Five legislative runoff elections will be decided tonight, with the state Senate victors winning the positions outright. We’ll also be following the Oklahoma County District 2 GOP runoff between Brian Maughan and J.D. Johnston. The winner of that contest will advance to the Nov. 4 general election to face Democrat Jim Dickinson. Stick around tonight as we follow these races.
