Explosion sends manhole cover flying in southeast Oklahoma City
An explosion blew a man hole cover off Saturday in southeast Oklahoma City.
At about 9:15 a.m., Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to a call for an explosion at 6425 Eddie Drive.
“An electrical transformer blew up and blew the man hole cover lid off,” said fire Deputy Chief Marc Woodard.
There were no injuries reported from the fire department or from workers in the area at the time, he said. Woodard did not have information about which company had been working in the area.

Now that is a very strange occurance, that a blast from an electrical transformer would knock a manhole cover off….how indeed were they connected….a little more story please. Is it a sanitary sewer manhole, a storm drainage manhole, an AT &T manhole…very strange indeed.
