Police have identified a man found dead Sunday night after a burglary call in southwest Oklahoma City.
Master Sgt. Gary Knight said Christopher Robert Trevino, 25, of Oklahoma City, was found dead inside a house about 8:30 p.m. Sunday after officers responded to a home invasion at 7924 S McKinley Avenue. (more…)

Local race car driver shot to death during domestic dispute
A local race car driver was shot to death Saturday morning during a domestic dispute, the Tulsa World reports.
According to the Wagoner County Sheriff Bob Colbert, Donald Ray Crawford III, 24, is dead after his maternal grandfather, Daniel J. Garcia, 74, entered the residence and began shooting about 9 a.m. at the residence just outside of Broken Arrow.
Garcia shot his daughter (Crawford’s mother), Jodie Lynn Crawford, in the hip while she was trying to protect her son, Colbert said. Garcia also died at the scene, and the state medical examiner has not determined the cause of death.
Crawford III was known as a hero in 2008 for saving the life of a driver whose car caught on fire after a race in Oklahoma City.

Broken Arrow police officer suspended amid rape allegation
The Tulsa World reports that a Broken Arrow police officer has been suspended due to an investigation into a rape allegation.

The name of the officer was not released, but Broken Arrow Police Maj. Mark Irwin described him as a six-year veteran of the force. He said the officer was suspended with pay on Friday. (more…)
Okmulgee County Courthouse evacuated after bomb threat
Officials are following up on leads after a bomb threat at the Okmulgee County Courthouse Wednesday.
Okmulgee County Undersheriff Fred McGuire Jr. wrote in a news release Thursday that deputies responded shortly before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday to the courthouse at 314 W 7. He said the bomb threat was called into the clerk’s office. (more…)
Two in Stillwater face felony drug charges
The Stillwater NewsPress reports that two people face felony drug charges that accuse them of possessing methamphetamine, LSD and growing marijuana near their home.

University of Central Oklahoma evacuated after discovery of hazardous acid
A science building at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond was evacuated for about an hour Wednesday after a professor found a hazardous substance in a chemistry lab.
Adrienne Nobles, spokeswoman for the university, said a professor was doing inventory in a lab inside Howell Hall when he discovered picric acid, a crystalline solid that can be detonated by extreme heat or electric charge. Edmond hazmat firefighters and the police bomb squad were called to remove the substance. (more…)
Grady County sheriff’s office calls news conference to discuss Chickasha homicide case
Investigators have been pursuing leads since Monday in the case of Danny Ray Franklin, 31, whose body was found near Chickasha.
The family’s pet discovered Franklin behind the family business at 1066 County Road 1383. The dog alerted Franklin’s father, who took a walk around the property and found his son lying near the tree line about 11 a.m. Monday. (more…)
