Oklahoma teen mom who shot intruder to protect baby to appear on Dr. Phil Thursday

Blanchard mom Sarah McKinley will discuss her ordeal Thursday on the Dr. Phil show, a spokesperson for the program confirmed.

The 18-year-old Blanchard mother shot an intruder to protect her 3-month-old son on New Year’s Eve. Police said Justin Shane Martin, 24, attempted to shoulder his way through the door that afternoon before McKinley shot him with a 12-gauge shot gun. He died gripping a knife, court documents say. His alleged accomplice in the home invasion, Dustin Louis Stewart, 29, faces a murder charge for his friend under Oklahoma law. Stewart told investigators Martin thought prescription painkillers were at the house. McKinley said she felt she’d been watched for weeks prior to the home invasion.

The program is set to air at 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, on KOCO 5 in the Oklahoma City area.
