Local race car driver shot to death during domestic dispute
A local race car driver was shot to death Saturday morning during a domestic dispute, the Tulsa World reports.
According to the Wagoner County Sheriff Bob Colbert, Donald Ray Crawford III, 24, is dead after his maternal grandfather, Daniel J. Garcia, 74, entered the residence and began shooting about 9 a.m. at the residence just outside of Broken Arrow.
Garcia shot his daughter (Crawford’s mother), Jodie Lynn Crawford, in the hip while she was trying to protect her son, Colbert said. Garcia also died at the scene, and the state medical examiner has not determined the cause of death.
Crawford III was known as a hero in 2008 for saving the life of a driver whose car caught on fire after a race in Oklahoma City.

Domestic violence seems to be on the rise with alarming results as this one. A young life and the life of his family assailant has ended over what?! Now, neither of them suffer pain or anguish in the grave (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, and 10), says the Bible. Those of us, the living who are left with pain of heart and dismay. Let us actively pursue peace in our relationships with our fellowman. Let it began at home.
@Tammyjohnson Perhaps before you speak about a situation, you should know the facts. So allow me to inform you that it happened over nothing. There was no dispute or reason for the violence. If you don’t know, don’t assume. I pray to God you never have to face a tragedy such as this.
