Send us breaking news tips
Oklahoma is a very large state with a lot of small towns. Sometimes it might only seem like reporters cover crime relating to Oklahoma City or Tulsa, but I think it’s important we change that.
Our job as journalists is to provide accurate and reliable information to readers. With budget cuts in our industry, it’s not always easy to branch out to smaller communities, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to know what’s going on in them.
So to help our staff cover breaking news stories across the state, we’ve added a function to the blog where you can send us news tips. We want to hear about what’s going on in your community.
We listen to police scanners, browse through documents and social media, but sometimes we need residents to tell us what they might have heard or seen.
To send us a breaking news tip, click the button above the blog or click on the picture in this post. We want to hear from you.
Thank you for joining our conversation on NewsOK Now. We encourage your discussion but ask that you stay within the bounds of our commenting and posting policy.

I got a call from an inmate at the OKC county jail he said the jail has been damaged by the earthquakes (two nights in a row). He said he can see into the cell next to his because there is a crack in the wall of his cell. Also, the piers in the pod ( I guess it’s the community room on each floor)all have a crack from floor to ceiling. He said the inmates are afraid the building is going to collapse. He was afraid and wanted me to tell everyone that he loved them. Can you guys check into this…he was so scared.
New earth quake felt in MWC at 8:48 PM Monday night. It was not as strong as the 5.6 one the other night, but it lasted much longer.
