So somehow between the time WVU sued the Big East to get out of their committment to the Big East and joined the Big XII the distance between Morgantown, West Virginia and Lubbock, Texas somehow grew. I say they wanted to join let them go back to the Big East if they don’t like the schedule. What happened is they found out they really weren’t all that good and they don’t have much of a chance of going back to a major bowl game anymore. They don’t think being in the bottom half of a conference half way across the country is working out for them very well. It seems like they are kicking themselves for not waiting for an invitation from the ACC.

WVU will get the schedules worked out and in time other teams closer to Morgantown will join the Big 12. Be patient everybody Rome was not built in a day and we will not see immediate success in the Big 12. But, in time we will compete and win titles in the Big 12 just like we always have whether as a member of the Big East or as an Independent.

We are West Virginia, the other members can enjoy it for now but we will be heard from, it’s only a matter of time.

I would have preferred to see the Big12 add Lousiville instead of TCU. I am saying this based upon locaton and that Louisville would have added a 2nd team in the eastern time zone. Having teams in the eastern and central time zones, allow more games to be scheduled for tv viewing without overlapping.

After moving to the Big East, Louisville became a rival for WVU. For WVU to travel over 1,000 miles to their nearest competitor – that’s Iowa State – certainly puts a starin on having a cos rival.

West Virginia (and TCU) joined the Big XII quickly (no 2-3 year waiting period)…the schedules were already made (with A&M and Missouri originally) so TCU and WV took those schedules, respectively. There’s more time to redo the schedules that will make accommodations that will make it easier for WV to handle the travel.
